Been awhile...

Well, I guess it's been quite awhile since I've blogged. The main reason I haven't is because there hasn't been much to say.

Check this out !

Spam-tacular

What the hell is going on with spam these days ?

I get that everyone and their mother wants to sell me knock-off viagra and vallium, but I don't understand how the little poems/rantings/random thoughts at the end are supposed to help...

Here are a few gems from this week:

-Look, I said, having enough of this and very much needing a few
questions answered. Could you please try Esperanto? That good, old,
simple intergalactic second language Esperanto.
(intergalactic, eh ? so THAT's why all the different races on Star Trek could understand each other...)

-Do not wear out your welcome Misery loves company What boots up must come down. Trust is the mother of deceit When distrust enters in at the foregate, love goes out at the postern
(What boots up must come down ? As a colleague of mine put it, there's Microsoft's new motto !)

-Bow-wow. What do you mean `bow-wow? I gasped aloud. What is this repulsive
object?
(Maybe this one actually does belong in a viagra ad...)

-The red-furred hand was heavy on Jims shoulder-but it did not bother
him.
Now you understand, Iron John said, newfound warmth in his voice.
(Ok, I'm sold--I'll take enough vallium to be unconscious for whatever's about to happen...)

Chalk one up for the Blue Team

No, not the Leafs--they just suck.

The Conservatives (aka Texas North) won yesterday's federal election.

How the hell did that happen ? I'll take a corrupt Liberal party over a gun-toting, racist, program-cutting, americanizing, gay-bashing Conservative party any day.

Apparently 40.3% of Canadians who voted don't see it that way, however.

A Neo-Con/Bloc Alliance scares the crap out of me ! Although with the Conservatives running Canada, maybe I should look into a house in Gatineau as an escape plan if the big Q separates !

I think this election proved one thing: hype trumps logical thought.

The scandals were just too much for reason and intelligence to overcome apparently, and it's a shame.

What I'm most disappointed about is that a good man lost his job for someone else's mistakes.

Paul Martin might be the most genuine and caring person who has ever led this country, and I'm very sad to see him go. The humanitarian cause in Canada suffered a blow last night, and unfortunately some people who would have been helped by Martin's compassion won't ever see it.

Here's hoping the country is still in tact by the next election (in 18 months? LOL).

Best Joke I've Heard In Awhile

Three engineering students were gathered together discussing the
possible designers of the human body.

One said, "It was a mechanical engineer." Just look at all the joints."

Another said, "No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has
many thousands of electrical connections."

The last one said, "Actually it was a civil engineer. Who else would run
a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?"
